I’m a digital and technology leader who believes the best transformation happens when people, purpose and technology come together.

I’m a senior digital and technology leader with more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of technology, transformation, people and public services.

My career hasn’t followed a conventional technology leadership path. I started in the NHS and found my way into digital almost by accident, going on to spend more than a decade working across national NHS technology and transformation before moving into senior leadership roles spanning healthcare providers, global technology, consultancy and the wider public sector. That variety has given me the opportunity to experience transformation from many different perspectives — as a customer, a supplier, an adviser and, most importantly, as the person accountable for making change happen.

Throughout my career, I’ve been interested in much more than technology itself. I’m fascinated by what makes organisations work, how people respond to change and how leaders create the conditions for good ideas to become sustainable improvements. I believe the most successful digital transformation happens when technology, data, people and organisational strategy come together around a clear purpose.

I’ve led digital and technology strategies, complex transformation programmes, multidisciplinary teams and partnerships across organisational and sector boundaries. I’ve worked with executive teams and boards, technology companies, clinicians, operational leaders, policymakers and delivery teams — often helping translate between very different perspectives and turn complexity into something people can understand and act upon.

Today, my interests increasingly extend into data, AI and emerging technology, particularly the leadership questions they create. I’m interested not simply in what new technology can do, but how organisations adopt it responsibly, how we govern it without stifling innovation and how we make sure it genuinely improves outcomes for the people we serve.

People and leadership remain at the heart of how I work. I care deeply about developing others, creating inclusive teams and giving people the confidence and space to challenge established ways of working. I mentor, speak and contribute to industry conversations, and I particularly enjoy bringing together ideas from healthcare, government, technology and the private sector — because I’ve learned that some of the best thinking happens when we look beyond the boundaries of our own organisations.

I’m also a firm believer in continuing to learn. I returned to formal education later in my career, completing postgraduate study in senior leadership, and I continue to seek out experiences that challenge my thinking and introduce me to different perspectives.

Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition including being named among Computing’s 100 Most Influential IT Leaders and Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Women in UK Tech. I’m proud of those things, but I’m equally proud of the teams I’ve built, the people I’ve helped develop and the changes that have continued long after I’ve moved on.

This website started as somewhere to capture my experiences in digital health. It has evolved as my career has evolved. Today, it’s where I share what I’m learning and thinking about digital transformation, technology, data and AI, leadership and the future of public services — including the things I’m still figuring out.
